What to Expect During Your Roof Replacement

What to Expect During Your Roof Replacement

A roof replacement is loud, fast, and very organized. Here is exactly how a typical job runs with Top Dog Contracting.

Before the Crew Arrives

We pull the permit, order materials, and confirm your installation date. You protect fragile items on interior walls (hammering vibrates the house) and move vehicles out of the driveway.

Day One: Tear-Off and Decking

Tarps go down to protect landscaping. The old roof comes off, and we inspect every sheet of decking — rotted wood gets replaced before anything new goes on. Synthetic underlayment goes down the same day, so your home is never exposed overnight.

Installation

Ice and water shield at the edges, drip edge, underlayment, then shingles — courses run up the roof while ridge vents and flashing details are fitted. Most homes are fully shingled in one to three days.

Cleanup and Final Check

The dump trailer leaves with everything we tore off. We sweep the property with a magnetic nail roller, and the owner does a final walk-through before we call the job done.

Every install is backed by our 10-Year Workmanship Warranty, in writing. Have questions about an upcoming project? Call (618) 915-9736.
